This policy explains what Wreath & Watt collects when you visit wreathandwatt.com, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read rather than to be technically unassailable, and if anything in it is unclear you can ask us at info@wreathandwatt.com.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing here to log into.
- We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read. That is aggregate traffic data.
- If you send us a message, we get your name, email and what you wrote.
- When you click a buy button, Amazon can tell the visit came from us.
- We do not sell data to anyone, and there is no advertising network on this site.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4. It records the usual web analytics information: which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device it was on, and how visitors move between pages. It also records when a buy button is clicked, which is how we know which pages are actually useful rather than merely visited.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognize a returning visit. You can block them with your browser settings or an extension, and the site works normally without them. Google’s own privacy documentation covers what it does with the data on its side.
We look at this data in aggregate. We are not trying to identify individual visitors and we have no mechanism for doing so.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, and we use them to reply and to fix whatever you told us about. The message is delivered to our own mailbox by email and is not added to a marketing list, because we do not have one.
The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real visitors never see, a check on how long the form was open, and a limit on how many messages one network address can send in an hour. These operate on the submission itself and do not profile you.
Affiliate links
Buy buttons on this site pass through a path on our own domain and then redirect to Amazon with our Associates tag attached. That tag tells Amazon the visit came from Wreath & Watt, which is how commission is attributed.
Once you are on Amazon you are subject to Amazon’s own privacy policy, not this one. We do not receive information about what you looked at or bought there beyond aggregate commission reporting, which does not identify individual customers. Full detail on the affiliate disclosure page.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, passwords or profiles.
- No payment information. Nothing is sold on this site.
- No newsletter list.
- No third-party advertising network and no retargeting pixels.
- No data sold or rented to anyone, for any purpose.
Hosting and delivery
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the network requests needed to deliver pages to you, which necessarily includes your network address at the moment of the request. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a third-party font service, so no font provider sees your visit.
Your choices
- Block analytics cookies in your browser or with an extension. The site works normally.
- Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. In practice, if you have never contacted us, the answer is nothing that identifies you.
- Ask us to delete a message you sent us. Email the same address you wrote from and we will remove it.
Children
This site is written for adults buying seasonal decorations and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We do not make quiet edits to it, for the same reason we do not make quiet edits to a specification.
