How high a pole reaches
The arithmetic
- Assume you hold the pole's base at about 5 ft
- 11 ft pole: 5 + 11 = about 16 ft
- 12 ft pole: about 17 ft
- 30 ft pole: about 35 ft
An 11 ft clip pole reaches a single-story gutter comfortably with feet on the ground. For a second-story eave you need the long hook pole — and clips already in place for it to hook onto.

Clip poles and hook poles

On a single-story house, yes: an 11 ft clip pole held at about 5 ft reaches roughly 16 ft, enough for most gutters. It pushes clips on and releases them with a trigger.
›How long a light-hanging pole do I need?
Your gutter height minus about 5 ft for where you hold the pole. 11 ft suits a single-story house; a second story needs a 30 ft hook pole and clips already in place.
