A lit arch is the one Christmas decoration people walk through rather than past. One arch over the front walk turns the path into an entrance; three in a row down a driveway turn it into a tunnel, which is why most are sold in threes.

An arch is a curve, so the full height is only at the center; the 24 in of headroom under an 8 ft arch shrinks toward the legs. A 10 ft arch leaves room to spare, and the VIHOSE's 8.9 ft width puts its legs on the grass either side of a 4 ft walk.
Spacing a tunnel
The arithmetic

Three arches over 30 ft stand 15 ft apart — a gateway at each end with one between. Pull them to 10 ft apart over the first 20 ft and they read as a single tunnel. If the drive is in use, check that a car still fits between the legs.
Anchoring
An arch is tall, light and open, so the wind pushes on the whole curve. The Geetery listing is the only one that names its anchoring — ground stakes on a metal frame — which is why it leads the three-packs. For the rest, stake each leg and run a guy line to a stake on the windward side; the method is the same as on anchoring a yard piece. Across a paved drive, where stakes cannot go in, weight each leg with a sandbag.
Power and color
