The best lighted gift boxes, sized for the step they sit on
Light-up presents are the cheapest way to fill the gap between the door and the tree. Box sizes, LED count and how far the cord reaches decide which set.
By Sawyer V. · Published

Lighted gift boxes do a job nothing else on a Christmas porch does: they fill the low, empty space beside a door or under a window, where a figure is too tall and a string of lights has nothing to climb. Stacked in threes they read as a pile of presents from the sidewalk.
They are also the category where listings are laziest about dimensions, and a box whose size you do not know is a box that arrives too small. Five sets below, one to skip.

Good
- All four box sizes published, so you can plan the stack before it arrives
- Iron frame rather than a wire skeleton, which is what survives being stood on in the dark
- Folds flat for storage — four boxes go back into one slim space
Watch out
- 70 LEDs across four boxes is 17 or 18 a box; it glows rather than blazes
- Trim is fixed, so the look is the look

Good
- The only set that publishes its lead length and the spacing between boxes — the two numbers that decide where it can sit
- Three full box dimensions given, not just a nominal size
- 60 LEDs across three boxes is the densest lighting here
Watch out
- Small: the largest box is 7.5 in, so it reads on a porch step rather than a lawn
- Tinsel finish frays with rough handling

Good
- 160 LEDs across three boxes — more than twice the light per box of the 4-piece set
- The bow is lit as well as the box, which is what reads from the street
Watch out
- Box sizes not published
- Three boxes rather than four, so the stack has less range

#4 — Four colors rather than one scheme
LJLNION lighted gift boxes, set of 4, 70 LEDs, four colors
4 boxes at 8.5, 7.5, 6.5 and 4.7 in, in four colors

Good
- Four colors in one set, where everything else here is a single traditional scheme
- All four box sizes published, so the stack can be planned before it arrives
- A published 9.8 ft cord, which is the figure that decides whether it reaches the outlet
- Folds flat for storage and needs no tools — one metal pole per box
Watch out
- 70 LEDs across four boxes is 17 or 18 a box; it glows rather than blazes
- PVC and metal rather than an iron frame, so it is lighter and less able to take a knock
- The listing asks for a waterproof outlet cover or a covered porch outdoors
Specs from the Amazon listing (ASIN B0B2CJ4X9V), verified via the Creators API 2026-10-06. Replaces the Rattanview B0H86F4HJG, which Amazon now shows as currently unavailable. No lighted gift box set larger than four pieces is on sale — RattanView's own live set is three — so the '12 boxes in one set' and 'filling a whole display' premises have been withdrawn rather than transferred, and the slot is now described by this set's four colors and four published sizes.

#5 — skip this
Tangkula 2D lighted gift box tower, 4 boxes, 4 ft, 48 LEDs
2D boxes, 48 in stacked, 48 LEDs
5.5
/ 10
Skip. A gift box under a tree is a three-dimensional object; a flat one reads as a sign of a box, however tall you stack it.

Our scoring

- Build

Good
- Flat boxes store in almost no space, and this one publishes its stacked size at 16 x 12 x 48 in
- Metal frame with a UL-listed adapter, zip ties and ground stakes, all published
- Two layouts from one set — a 4 ft tower or a horizontal run
Watch out
- The listing calls these 2D boxes, and 2D means they only read from straight on; from the side the tower is a frame edge
- 48 LEDs across four boxes is 12 a box, the lowest count on this page
- A 4 ft tower of flat panels catches wind, which is what the ground stakes are for

Specs from the Amazon listing (ASIN B0FVFZ1X6H), verified via the Creators API 2026-10-06. Replaces the Woanger B0H8NGDFXY, which Amazon now shows as currently unavailable; this is the same flat-metal-lighted-box class in four pieces rather than five, and its own listing calls them 2D, which is the reason this slot is the skip. It publishes the stacked size, LED count, adapter and stakes the Woanger never did, so the 'no sizes published' con has been withdrawn and the scoring now turns on the published 2D form.
How we ranked these
Published box sizes first, then LED count, then the frame that has to survive being stacked outdoors in January. Cord length matters more than people expect, so it is scored too.
| Set | Boxes | Sizes | LEDs | Frame |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DomKom 4 pack | 4 | 10, 8.5, 7, 6 in | 70 | Iron |
| Hourleey 3 pack | 3 | 7.5, 6.1, 5.1 in | 60 | Not stated |
| DomKom 3 pack | 3 | Not stated | 160 | Metal |
| LJLNION 4 set | 4 | 8.5, 7.5, 6.5, 4.7 in | 70 | PVC and metal |
| Tangkula 2D tower | 4 | 16 x 12 x 48 in stacked | 48 | Metal, 2D |
Two of the five publish box sizes. Hourleey is the only set that publishes its cord length.

What a stack actually measures
The arithmetic
- DomKom 4 pack stacked: 10 + 8.5 + 7 + 6 = 31.5 in tall
- Hourleey 3 pack stacked: 7.1 + 5.9 + 4.9 = 17.9 in tall
- Standard porch step rise: about 7 in
The 4-pack stacks to knee height — the right scale beside a front door. The Hourleey stack is under 18 in, which suits a step, a window ledge or the base of a tree rather than an open porch.
LEDs per box, not per set
The arithmetic
- DomKom 4 pack: 70 LEDs over 4 boxes = 17.5 per box
- Hourleey 3 pack: 60 over 3 = 20 per box
- DomKom 3 pack: 160 over 3 = 53 per box
Set totals hide the number that matters. At 53 LEDs a box the 3-pack is three times brighter per box than the 4-pack, which is the difference between a box that glows and a box that shows its outline from the road.
The cord is a spec
The Hourleey set is the only one that publishes its wiring: a 9.8 ft lead to the first box and 19.6 in between boxes. That means the three boxes span about 3.3 ft and have to sit within 10 ft of an outlet. Everything else here leaves you to find out. Outdoors, plan the run before you place the boxes — the cord rules are on extension cords and outdoor light safety.
Iron, metal or flat
Two sets name an iron or metal frame, which is what survives a season of being knocked and re-stacked. The Tangkula tower is metal but flat — its own listing calls the boxes 2D. From straight on a 4 ft stack of them works; from the side it is a frame edge, which is why it is the skip on a decoration that sits where people walk past it at an angle.
Where boxes work
Beside the front door, under a picture window, at the foot of a porch tree, or along a path edge with pathway lights. Indoors they fill the space under a wall-mounted or flat-back tree where a real pile of presents will not appear until the 25th.
Questions
›How big are lighted gift boxes?
The sets that publish sizes run 5 to 10 in per box. A four-box stack at 10, 8.5, 7 and 6 in reaches about 31 in tall.
›Can lighted gift boxes go outside?
Every set here is sold for indoor or outdoor use. Set them against a wall or step and weight the bottom box: they are light frames with big flat sides.
›How many LEDs should a lighted gift box have?
Judge per box, not per set. 17 to 20 LEDs a box glows softly; 50 or more reads from the road.
›How far does the cord reach?
Only one listing here says: a 9.8 ft lead with 19.6 in between boxes. Assume you will need an outdoor extension cord for any porch placement.
